Actually, I've heard that the pacman for NES is not a very accurate port. There was a port of the NES version for the GBA, and it was almost an exact port of the NES version. However, it was an accurate port of an innacurate port.
If I were you, ghost, I'd buy a used GBA and a copy of "Pacman Collection". That game has an almost exact port of the arcade classic itself.
But I still think that pacman is too hard to be enjoyable. I would play Pacman World, if anything.
I've played Super Smash bros. on a N64 emulator, and it's pretty fun. Although I don't know if the actual game cartidge has as smooth of a framerate as it does when emulated...
